La Localidad llamada Rincón las Chilcas, ubicada a 24 kilómetros del centro urbano de la comuna de Combarbalá. Es un lugar muy pequeño que posee aproximadamente 40 familias que viven en las faldas del Chaguareche, cerro de dos puntas, el cual tuvo una connotación sagrada para los pueblos originarios de la época y que aun provoca reverencia. Con el tiempo, los padres de Gabriel Tapia Rubina se hicieron propietarios de una pequeña hijuela en la misma localidad. Es en este lugar donde comenzaron a darse cuenta de la presencia de un gran número de piedras con raros rayados, las cuales se encontraban dentro de la hijuela. No es hasta en el año 1991 que la familia recibe la visita de un Arqueoastrónomo, quien les habla de la importancia arqueológica de estos dibujos, llamados petroglifos. Pero es recién después de 10 años, que comienza a germinar el gusto por la importancia de los petroglifos y el tremendo tesoro que Gabriel poseía prácticamente en el patio de su casa. Esto se generó a través de una agrupación de combarbalinos estudiosos de la astronomía y su vinculación al patrimonio arqueológico (ACRUX). Así fue como Gabriel comienza a interesarse por el estudio de los petroglifos, su importancia patrimonial y su misterio interpretativo. Al comienzo con desconfianza y desconocimiento, pero posteriormente con un interés claro por conocer y difundir el patrimonio indígena de nuestro país.
The Locality called Rincón las Chilcas, located to 24 kilometres of the urban center of Combarbalá's commune. It is a very small place that possesses approximately 40 families that live in the skirts of the Chaguareche, hill of two tops, which had a sacred connotation for the original peoples of the epoch and which even provokes reverence. It is not even in the year 1991 that the family receives the visit of an Arqueoastrónomo,who speaks to them about the archaeological importance of these drawings, called petroglifos. But it is newly after 10 years, which the taste begins to germinate for the importance of the petroglifos and the tremendous exchequer that Gabriel was possessing practically in the court of his house. This was generated across a group of combarbalinos experts of the astronomy and his entail to the archaeological heritage (ACRUX). This way he was like Gabriel it begins to be interested for the study of the petroglifos, his patrimonial importance and his interpretive mystery. To the beginning with distrust and ignorance, but later with a clear interest to know and spread the heritage indigenous to our country.
